MINDSTORM or snowstorm this Christmas?
The Remote³ programme has begun for this academic year!
This December, a team of mentors from Boulby Underground Lab travelled to a local primary school to kick-off this year’s Remote³ programme with a class of Year 4 – 6 students. The session involved introducing the project and its aims, introducing the LEGO MINDSTORM kits that the students will be using, and having a go at some block-based coding by trying to find water on Mars (that is to say, programming a LEGO Mars rover to detect the colour blue on a challenge mat).
The Remote³ programme is jointly ran with the University of Edinburgh and STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. You can find out more about the Remote³ programme through our YouTube channel, linked here.
