Surface cleanroom
Our certified ISO 6 surface cleanroom is home to the Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS), part of our radioassay programme. Used for the quantification of long-lived naturally occurring radionuclides Uranium-238 and Thorium-232 to ultra-trace sensitivities, we can provide a snapshot of a materials radiopurity for rare-event particle research.
This 22 m² space offers instrumentation such as a prepFAST-MC for preconcentrations, a subCLEAN and traceCLEAN for achieving low background rates and low detection limits, an ETHOS UP for controlled sample digestion and a PYRO ashing system for complex samples. This allows for the analysis of a wide range of materials from metals to polymers.
